Citizen says Right to Information Act being violated
MANSEHRA: A citizen has complained that Right to Information Commission of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa constituted under the Right to Information Act in 2013 to ensure accessibility of people to government affairs and credentials has failed to provide him documents even after eight months of his application.
“I moved the commission and sought documents related to appointments of female teachers in the Education Department (female) in Mansehra but I couldn’t get relevant documents even after eight months after submitting my application,” Mazhar Hussain Shah told reporters here on Thursday.
He alleged that the District Education Department (Female), in Mansehra denied job to his daughter Asima Bibi who, according to him, had topped the merit list. He said instead another woman Saeeda Bibi was appointed to the post.
Mazhar Hussain Shah said he had first moved application under the RTI Act to head of district Education Department (Female) but the official refused to release the relevant documents through which Saeeda Bibi and others were appointed allegedly in violation of merit.
The citizen said later he filed another application with Chief Information Commissioner KP in Peshawar on October 2, last year for release of degrees, appointment letters, newspapers’ advertisements and other relevant documents but he was yet to receive the information.
