‘Rozgar Sindh’ web portal launched for govt job vacancies
Karachi: The Sindh government launched a centralised online job portal, “Rozgar Sindh”, on Saturday to announce vacancies in its departments. It can be accessed using the URL: www.sindhrozgar.gos.pk.
The website, developed by the provincial information, science and technology department, will allow prospective applicants instant access to information related to jobs and guidance.
The web portal would also announce job opportunities at the levels of divisional and district administrations.
The information, science and technology department said in a communiqué that the main purpose behind the project was to create a centralised job repository to save time, money, and paper.
Every administrative department of the provincial government has been asked to nominate two focal persons having experience of using web portals, and they would be responsible for upload and updating information on Rozgar Sindh on behalf of their respective departments.
The department has organised half-day training sessions for these focal persons to make them familiar with the web portal.
Although considerable time has passed since the portal was launched, it contains virtually no information about vacancies as a ban had been place on government jobs till the completion of the local government polls.
Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah in his budget speech next month is likely to announce the lifting of the ban and new jobs.
