Mayo doctor shot at, injured

LAHORE

A senior doctor of Mayo Hospital received bullet injuries when some unidentified men opened fire at him in the hospital’s parking on Wednesday morning. 

According to police and Rescue 1122 officials, Wajid Ali, a senior doctor, was parking his vehicle when some unidentified men shot at him and fled away. The injured was rushed to Mayo Hospital where his condition was said to be critical. It was learnt that Wajid Ali was serving as registrar of Urology Department of the Mayo Hospital. 

Drug smuggling bid foiled: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled a drug smuggling bid after recovering drug filled capsules from belly of two smugglers at Lahore airport.

The arrested persons identified as Shaukat Ali and Safdar Ali hailed from Gujranwala. Both the persons were marked over their suspicious acts at the airport.

The ANF officials searched their bodies and luggage thoroughly. When they were scanned through a special body scanner, they confessed on the spot that they were carrying 70 heroin-filled capsules each in their abdomen.

They were taken into custody by the ANF officials and all drug filled capsules were recovered from their stomach.
