Prolonged power cuts in DI Khan protested
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The residents of various villages in the district on Tuesday took out protest rally against the hours-long loadshedding.
Led by Assadullah, Muhammad Khan and Tanvir, the residents of Kotla Saidan, Qureshi Morr, Shor, Ara and other villages chanted slogans against the officials of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) for carrying out prolonged power outages. They walked through various areas and blocked the bypass road for traffic for some time near Kotal Saidan.
Speaking on the occasion, they said that carrying out 20 hours-long power cuts was an injustice with the residents. They asked the government and the Pesco officials to reduce duration of the power cuts or else a protest campaign would be launched. The protesters dispersed peacefully after being assured by the Pesco officials to reduce the duration of the loadshedding.
