Indo-Pak foreign secretaries to meet in New Delhi tomorrow
ISLAMABAD: An important meeting between the foreign secretaries of Pakistan and India is expected tomorrow (Tuesday) when Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry will be leading a delegation to the Heart of Asia (Istanbul Process) Conference being held in New Delhi, reliable sources said.
Diplomatic sources in Islamabad said a meeting of the Heart of Asia (Istanbul Process) is going to be held in the Indian capital on Tuesday. Secretary-level and other high officials from US, China, Russia, Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and some other countries will attend.
Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry is also scheduled to meet foreign secretaries and high officials of important countries on the sidelines of the conference. He will also meet his Indian counterpart Subramaniam J Shankar.
Diplomatic observers based in Islamabad say an important exchange of views can take place against the background of current Indo-Pak relations. Inter alia, the stalled talks between the foreign secretaries of both the countries can come under discussion.
