Rabbani rejects report released by Sabah news agency
ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani has Monday issued the following press statement: “On the 17th April, 2016, at 11:30 am, I issued a press statement through the Senate Secretariat, Media Department, Islamabad, wherein, I declined the offer of the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly from heading a Parliamentary Committee to investigate into the Panama Leaks."
“Subsequent to the issuance of the said statement, I did not speak to any electronic media, any print media or any news agency. Therefore, the story appearing in your newspaper of today, other than that which pertains to or deals with the text of my issued statement, is false, incorrect and misleading.”
This should be remembered that the news attributed to agencies was published by The News, Jang and other newspapers. The said news containing Rabbani's remarks during a meeting with Bilawal Bhutto was released by Sabah news agency.
