Mentally retarded girl raped by SHO

SUKKUR: A 20-year-old mentally retarded girl from Garhi Shahu area of Lahore city was allegedly raped by Station House Officer (SHO) Mohammad Aslam Leghari at his official quarter near police station in Digri town of Mirpurkhas district on Sunday. SSP Mirpurkhas Usman Ghani, talking to The News, said that on the complaint of the rape victim, an FIR No 42 under Section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code has been registered against SHO Jamali. The SSP said that the SHO has been arrested after being suspended.        

 

Man kills sister a day before marriage

FAISALABAD: A man killed his sister for refusing marriage at Chak 521/GB, Dijkot, on Saturday. The marriage of Sumaira Bibi was scheduled for today (April 10). On the day of the incident, she refused to tie the knot. It infuriated Umar Qayyum and he allegedly shot his sister Sumaria dead and ran away in the presence of dozens of relatives and neighbours, who had assembled in the house in connection with the marriage arrangements. Police are investigating.

 

16-year-old girl gang-raped in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: A 16-year-old girl was abducted and raped by six youths at Chak 92/DB. Six youths abducted Sharman Bibi, a resident of Chak 104/DB, Yazman tehsil, and raped her. Yazman Sadr police have registered an FIR against six accused. According to police, raids are being conducted to arrest the culprits.
