Dengue larvae

This refers to the APP report, ‘Recent rains likely to increase breeding of dengue larvae: Rafique’ (March 13). It would be prudent if Adviser on Health to the Punjab Chief Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique acquires some basic knowledge of dengue fever before issuing the statement.
The disease is caused by a virus, and viruses do not have larvae. He is most likely speaking about the larvae of the vector of dengue fever which is a mosquito.
