Siraj pledges struggle to enforce Islamic system

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq on Sunday pledged to wage a struggle till the last drop of blood for the implementation of the Islamic system in the country.

He was addressing a big Tahaffuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalaat march organised by the JI against the execution of Mumtaz Qadri and attempts to repeal the blasphemy laws. It announced to launch a country-wide drive against the government and conspiracy to cancel the blasphemy law as per desires of anti-Islam forces.

Tens of thousands of people from all walks of life participated in the march. They were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the government, execution of Mumtaz Qadri and attempts to repeal the blasphemy laws. The grandson of Ghazi Abdul Qayyum also participated in the event. Medical and reception camps were also set up on the spot, while special areas were designated for parking of vehicles.

JI Ameer Senator Siraj-ul-Haq, while addressing the march, paid rich tributes to Mumtaz Qadri. He said Qadri delivered a clear message by sacrificing his life that Muslim Ummah would not tolerate any attept to safeguard blasphemers.

He recalled that the then Musharraf-led government had tried to tone down the funeral of Aamir Cheema, but all the nefarious tactics had been foiled by the masses. He was of the view that the same saga was being repeated.

The JI Ameer said Nawaz Sharif has placed himself in the category of traitors and said no one, including the United States, would be able to safeguard those who participated in the hanging of Qadri. He termed the government and all those involved as cursed.

Haq said the founders of the Muslim League had defended the killers of blasphemers but unfortunately now the high-ups had adopted a U-turn. He said the PML-N led government thought that they had hanged Qadri, but indeed each and every child of the nation would follow the footprints of Qadri.

He congratulated the Karachiites and said that the city proved today that residents of Karachi stand together with the lovers and followers of the Holy Prophet (SAW), not with the agents of foreign governments and international monetary institutions. ‘

About the present government, the JI Ameer said terrorism charges should also be applicable against the corrupt rulers. He announced that the march is the beginning of a great movement and Tahfuz-e-Namoos Risalat marches would also be held in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Nawabshah, Lahore and other parts of Punjab as well as KP and Balochistan.

JI Karachi chief Engineer. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said the spirit of people that surfaced in Rawalpindi on the occasion of the funeral prayers, has reached Karachi and is spreading across the country. He warned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif not to touch the blasphemy laws. Unfortunately, the ruling regime has put its weight behind the blasphemers, he added. He criticised the media houses and Pemra for their biassed attitude towards the forces supporting blasphemy laws and struggling for the honour of the Holy Prophet (SAW).

JI Sindh Ameer Dr. Meraj-ul-Huda Siddiqi said in 1929 Quaid-e-Azam was the lawyer of Ghazi Alam Din, who had killed a blasphemer and Allama Iqbal had received his body after the British Viceroy hanged him and today the nation stood where the Quaid was standing. But unfortunately the Nawaz Sharif-led government adopted the stance of the British Viceroy.

Tahafuz-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwat Tehreek’s Karachi chief Maulana Aejaz Mustafa, Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba Karachi chief Hashim Yusaf Abdali, Maulana Azmatullah Hamdani, Sahabzada Ahmad-ur-Rehman of JUI-S, JUP’s Siddiq Rathore, TI Karachi chief Shujauddin Sheikh, Islami Tehreek’s Allama Nazir Abbas Taqvi and JuD’s Dr. Muhammad Muzamil also addressed on the occasion.
