A loaded truck carrying motorcycles was completely gutted, its cargo of 57 mopeds badly damaged, and three cars parked nearby partially burnt as a fire broke out in the trailer truck in the New Karachi police limits early on Monday morning.
The cause of the fire, according to New Town police officials, was short-circuiting in the truck's main battery.
The incident occurred at around 6:15am and the truck was parked near UP Morr.
Fire officials who attended the scene said the blaze spread rapidly and it took them almost an 8hour to douse the truck and the cars parked around it. The area was later cordoned off by law enforcers.
