Headstart organises robotics competition

IslamabaD: With the objective of giving youths an opportunity to demonstrate their talents and cross-fertilize ideas on robot design and manufacturing, the Headstart School organised the Robotics Competition 2016 here.

Sixteen teams from all over Pakistan participated in the event and showcased their innovations and thus, winning accolades for their respective educational institutions.

The competition was divided into two categories i.e. Lego Robots category and Logic Based Robots category.

Thirteen teams participated in the Lego Robots category and three in the Logic-Based Robots category.

Among the participants were Headstart School, Beaconhouse (Senior Branch) Rawalpindi, the EMS High School Islamabad, FAST University, Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering, and Air University.

Dr. Mansoor Shaukat, director at the CASE Robotics Group, and Umer Farooq, senior design engineer at the Center for Advanced Research in Engineering, adjudicated the competition.

The judges declared FAST University and Headstart School winner and the runner-up in the Lego Robots category respectively, and Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering and Air University winner and runner-up in the Logic Base category respectively.
