JHELUM: An alleged suicide bomber detonated himself after police challenged him in Domeli Mor area of Jhelum on Thursday.
On a tip-off, the police and bomb disposal squad reached a site where a suspect was installing explosives on a railway track and challenged him. After seeing the police the suspect attempted to flee under the cover of fire. The police retaliated and cornered the terrorist who blew himself up.

The police cordoned off the area and launched an operation.
Railway traffic on the track remained suspended for a brief period. The identity of the terrorist could not be ascertained immediately.
