Karachi-Huston Sister City Association donates RO plant for Karachiites
KARACHI: A Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant donated by Karachi-Huston Sister City Association and installed in North Nazimababd Block-L area for supply of safe and clean drinking water was inaugurated here today.
The plant, which has been installed by Al-Khidmat Foundation with the assistance of Helping Hand for Relief and Development, will supply safe and clean drinking water to the residents of the areas.
Addressing the ceremony, Patron-in-Chief Karachi-Huston Sister City Association Majyd Aziz said that the expatriate Pakistanis were living in Huston for decades, but their hearts were still beating with Pakistanis.
He said the RO plant donated by the expatriate Pakistanis was a true reflection of their love and care for the people of Pakistan.
On the occasion, President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Younus M Bashir said that organisations like Karachi-Huston Sister City Association and Al-Khidmat Foundation were truly serving the masses and suffering humanity.
He said that in Karachi’s Gaddap area, women had to travel for miles to fetch drinking water even today. He underlined the need to install RO plants in such areas for supply clean and safe drinking water to the residents.
The ceremony was also addressed by Country Director HRD Fazlur Rehman, Assistant Secretary Al-Khidmat Foundation Engineer, Abdul Aziz and others.
Secretary General Karachi-Huston Sister City Association, Khalid Iqbal Khan and Vice-Presdient Waseemudddin were also present on the occasion.
