ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Pervaiz Rashid Monday said the October 12 coup by Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf has been buried for good.
Speaking in Geo News program ‘Jirga’ hosted by anchor Salim Safi, the Information Minister said similarly the ‘politics of lies and disrespect’ of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has also gone under ground on the night between October 11 and 12.
Rashid said the treason case faced by the former military ruler of Paistan was now a matter to be dealt by the court and law.
Earlier today, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also said that the dark period triggered by the October 12, 1999 coup was now over.
“A bright sun has risen on October 12, 2015. Democracy is gaining roots in the country while institutions are working in their respective domains. A new era of prosperity has begun. Today democracy stands sheltered from all the shadows of dangers,” the Defence Minister maintained.
