Security establishment vital in framing foreign policy: Sartaj

ISLAMABAD:  Prime Minsiter’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said the Government has chalked out a comprehensive policy against terrorism and foreign policy would be framed based on of our security needs like United States did.

“The role of security establishment is vital in framing the foreign policy,” he said

Talking to newsmen in Islamabad on Monday, Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan has achieved significant successes in War against terror as a result of Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Pakistan`s image has been improved in the world.

He pointed out peace in Afghanistan is one of priorities of the present Government and added that Pakistan is continuing with the policy of non-interference in Afghanistan.

Sartaj Aziz said border management is being strengthened with Afghanistan to check illegal border crossings. He said now Afghan nationals will not be allowed to enter Pakistan without valid documents. He said the two countries have agreed on to prepare a mechanism for amicable solution of issues.

To a question the adviser said, Kashmir will top the agenda of dialogue with India.

“Pakistan is exposing the whole network of espionage after arrest of Kalbhushan Yadav, officer of Indian spy agency Research Analysis Wing (RAW),” he said.

Sartaj Aziz said dossiers related to Yadav and investigations in its wake will be sent to the United States and India as well.

He said Pakistan and China will ensure full implementation of China Pakistan Economic Corridor projects. Pakistan has strengthened its relations with China and Central Asian states.

Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan's membership of Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a major achievement of foreign policy.
