RAWALPINDI: A National Security meeting was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday in which both the civil and military leadership participated.
According to the ISPR, during the meeting, deep concern was expressed at the American drone strike which had killed former Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour. The ISPR also stated that because of the drone strike, the trust between Pakistan and the United States had been affected. The ISPR also stated that the drone strike had also affected Pakistan's sovereignty.
Another statement by the ISPR, the Afghan reconciliation process had also been impacted in a negative way due to the drone strike on May 21. Furthermore, it was also decided in the meeting that foreign spy agencies and their facilitators would not be allowed to operate in Pakistan. During the meeting, the current conspiracies being hatched against Pakistan were also discussed by the civil and military leadership.
The security situation of the whole region was also discussed during the National Security meeting and participants also lauded efforts of the armed forces in the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb.
