Detention of Hurriyet Leader Yasin Malik denounced

ISLAMABAD: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has denounced the continued illegal detention of party Chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik and demanded his immediate release.

The JKLF spokesman in a statement issued in Held Srinagar said that Muhammad Yasin Malik had been languishing in police custody for last four days KMS reported.

For the past four days he has not been presented before any court or magistrate and illegally jailed in a police station.

He has been totally cutoff from outside world and relatives or friends who come to meethim at police station are being searched and humiliated by police.

Meanwhile Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Held Srinagar said that no Kashmiri would accept occupied Kashmir being turned into another Palestine.

He said that construction of colonies in the name of Pandits retired Indian soldiers and East India company type industrial policy were conspiracies to change demography of occupied Kashmir which would not be allowed.

He said As a living nation it is our duty to stand up and safeguard our national interests.

This is like do or die situation for us and we will have to resist with passion and stand united on this occasion.

On the other hand Hurriyet leaders Shabir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and Gulam Nabi War in their joint statement strongly denounced continued detention and shifting ofMuhammad Yasin Malik to central jail Srinagar.
