ISLAMABAD: Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain telephoned Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in order to inquire about his health.
During the conversation, President Mamnoon expressed his good wishes for the Prime Minister.
"May Allah grant you a speedy recovery," he said to PM Nawaz during their telephonic conversation. President Mamnoon also told Nawaz that the whole country was praying for his health.
In response, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reportedly expressed his good wishes for the nation and prayed for the safety of each Pakistani citizen.
"May Allah protect and keep each and every Pakistani safe," he said.
The Prime Minister has been in London due to medical reasons. PM Nawaz is to undergo an open heart surgery on Tuesday. The government, headed by Mr Sharif and his ministers, have been under tremendous pressure ever since the disclosures regarding offshore companies and the Sharif family came to light in the Panama papers.
Ever since the Panama leaks controversy, opposition parties have stepped up their demands for the PM to resign and present himself before a judicial commission for an impartial investigation.
