ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the Scotland Yard team met with Director FIA (Sindh) Shahid Hayat to discuss the Imran Farooq murder.
Sources disclosed that the two sides exchanged information pertaining to the two-sided evidence in the money laundering case that is being investigated by Scotland Yard. MQM's Muhammad Anwar and other representatives' involvement in money laundering activities was also discussed during the meeting.
Sources further revealed that a legal expert was also part of the Scotland Yard team which had arrived in Islamabad to meet Shahid Hayat. Shahid Hayat also briefed the Scotland Yard team regarding the money laundering cases that were registered in Karachi.
A couple of days ago, UK-based businessman Sarfraz Merchant, who had arrived in Pakistan, recorded his statement with a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) regarding MQM's alleged links with Indian intelligence agency RAW. Sarfraz Merchant is co-accused in a money laundering case along with senior members of the MQM's leadership.
