ISLAMABAD: A local court of Islamabad on Friday accepted pre-arrest bail plea of former chairman Senate Nayyar Bukhari and his son Jarar Shah in a case registered for thrashing a cop in Islamabad.
The court accepted plea against Rs20,000 surety bond each.
The court had issued arrest warrants for Nayyar Bukhari and his for thrashing a cop at entry gate of F-8 Kachehri.
The Margala Police on Wednesday registered an FIR against the former custodian of the Upper House under sections 353/506/186/34 PPC on the complaint of Muhammad Riaz, a head constable of Special Branch, Islamabad, who was deployed at the entry point with other cops.
Speaking to media, Bukhari said he was disappointed on registration of FIR against him by the government, adding that being a lawyer he had been associated with the profession for 40 years.
The government is using tactics to divert attention from Panama leaks and public issues, Nayyar Bukhari asserted.
