KHANEWAL: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD and police, in a joint action, killed at least three militants affiliated to outlawed groups in Jahania, Khanewal district early on Saturday morning.
The fourth terrorist detonated his explosive vest killing himself on the spot.
The police and CTD, on a tip-off, carried out joint action and exchange of fire took place near Lakhi Tibbi Adda.
Three terrorists were killed while another detonated his explosive vest killing himself. Two to three others managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness.
CTD sources said the terrorists were affiliated to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Al Qaeda and were plotting to target sensitive installations in Multan.
The law enforcers seized suicide jackets, two pistols and automatic riffle from the possession of the militants.
The bodies were shifted to district hospital Khanewal for legal formalities.
