PTI candidate from NA-245 withdraws, joins MQM hours before polling
KARACHI: Hours before polling began for by-elections in NA-245 and PS-115, Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate from NA-245 Amjadullah Khan withdrew in favour of Muttahida Qaumi Movement candidate Kamal Mallick and joined the MQM.
Amjadullah announced this late Wednesday night in a press conference held at the Khursheed Memorial Hall at MQM's Nine Zero headquarters. He was flanked by MQM leaders Amir Khan and Kanwar Naveed.

Meanwhile, polling for by-elections in NA-245 and PS-115 in Karachi is underway amid strict security.
Polling began at 8:00 a.m and will continue without any interval till 5:00 p.m.
NA-245 and PS-115 fell vacant because of resignations of MQM’s Rehan Hashmi and Arshad Vohra after they were elected in local bodies’ elections.
The NA-245 constituency includes areas: Nagan Chowrangi, Sakhi Hasan, Five Star, Shadman and barren areas around the Inter Board Office. There 409,655 registered voters in the area.
ECP has set up 227 polling stations in the area.
The constituency PS-115 includes areas around Lines Area and New Sindhi Muslim Society.
Over 100,000 voters are registered in the constituency. Over 83 polling stations are set up in the area.
