Karachi: Polling for by-elections in NA-245 and PS-115 in Karachi is underway amid strict security on Thursday.
Polling began at 8:00 a.m and will continue without any interval till 5:00 p.m.
The National and provincial assembly seats (NA-245 and PS-115) fell vacant because of resignations of MQM’s Rehan Hashmi and Arshad Vohra after they were elected in local bodies’ elections.
Sindh Government has made strict security arrangements at both the constituencies.
The Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) has decided to deploy Rangers to perform duties to ensure necessary security arrangements.
ECP has awarded power of the first class magistrate to the Rangers officers.
