Pakistan’s anti-corruption watchdog looks into Panama leaks
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is looking into the issue of Panama Papers, a massive leak of tax documents which reveals hundreds of Pakistanis including politicians and businessman own offshore companies, sources said on Tuesday.
The sources said the country’s top anti-corruption body would decide whether to move against the people listed in the documents after reviewing the issue thoroughly.

Officials of the anti-corruption watchdog are of the view that revelations of Panama leaks could not be overlooked. While a majority of Pakistanis figuring in the documents are businessmen, the family of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is conspicuous due to its political profile.
According to the leaked documents besides the ruling family names of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and many other politicians are among the Pakistanis who own offshore companies.
