LAHORE: The Punjab government has prohibited use of Sheesha (Hukka) in cafes, clubs and public places like hotels, restaurants and parks with immediate effect till April 01 2016 across the Punjab province.
According to a senior official of the Provincial Home Department it has been reported that most of the managements of cafes are involved in providing the facilities of smoking of Sheesha and Hukka to teenager boys and girls which are source of hazards erupting serious diseases particularly destroying the future of young generation.
He said to this effect nuisance exists among the masses especially amongst the parents of teenager students, adding there is strong apprehension that it may disturb public peace and tranquility.
The action has been taken under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code 1898 as an immediate prevention and speedy remedy in the matter, he added.
