RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif visited and spent whole day with Pak Army contingent deployed under UN flag in Ivory Coast.

According to Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief paid rich tribute to officers and men for professionalism, commitment to bring stability, promoting peace for a secure world under UN and acknowledged sacrifices of Pak troops in Peace Keeping Operations (PKOs).

The COAS said, “Pakistan is committed to meet emerging challenges of PKO and continues to uphold UN and Pak flag fluttering high.”

Pakistan is proud of its historic, current role as major troops contributor, takes it as obligation to participate in international peace and security.

Gen. Raheel said being one of leading troop contributors, Pak currently deployed on 6 UN missions, despite ongoing Op Zarb-e-Azb and IBOs.

Our troops proving their mettle on PKOs also, he added.
