Mina tragedy: 314 Pakistani pilgrims missing

KARACHI: Director General Haj, Abu Akif said on Friday that 314 Pakistani pilgrims are missing since the Mina tragedy in which 717 pilgrims were martyred, including seven Pakistanis.

KARACHI: Director General Haj, Abu Akif said on Friday that 314 Pakistani pilgrims are missing since the Mina tragedy in which 717 pilgrims were martyred, including seven Pakistanis.

He said Pakistani authorities have yet not been granted access to hospitals where the injured are being treated but they were collecting data from morgues and would make the details public shortly.

“Initially there was report of 402 missing Pakistanis; however, we managed to contact 86 Pakistanis. Our doctors are present in morgues to get further details," he said.

Akif said the Saudi government would soon make a final announcement about those martyred and injured during the stampede in Mina.
