LAHORE: Alleging Punjab Police for being thugs, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday urged his party workers to keep mobile phone and other cameras handy to report any attempt of unlawful use of force by the law enforcers during the upcoming by-elections.

Speaking to the party workers here today, Khan vowed not to leave the culprit policemen unpunished if caught red-handed.

“I now have over 4.5 million followers on Facebook… Any video or photo catching policemen of wrongdoings will go viral with a click,” said the former cricket legend.

The statement comes against the backdrop of upcoming by-polls in NA-122, Lahore and NA-154, Lodhran.

His party has also decided to approach the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding Imran Khan’s participation in the party’s by-poll campaign.

Under the ECP code of conduct MPs are not allowed to canvass in the constituencies. However, Imran Khan was of the view that it was his responsibility as a party chief to convey and propagate the party’s manifesto.

The PTI chairman, during today’s address, said his candidates would defeat ‘those who stole the public mandate’ in the 2013 general elections.
