LAHORE: Defying apparent rules for election campaigning, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, after consultation with legal experts, announced a full scale electoral drive for NA-122 and NA-154 constituencies.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Saturday, he said, “I am inaugurating Abdul Aleem Khan’s electoral campaign here, people are set to defeat those who stole their mandate.”

Khan went on to say that he is the party chairman and it is his responsibility to convey and propagate the party’s manifesto. He questioned why he has been stopped from campaigning.

“I am not a minister, I hold no key posts then why cannot I campaign?”
“I will be a part of Aleem Khan’s campaign and will go to Lodhran as well, for Jahangir Tareen.”

Khan announced a massive rally for October 4 in Islamabad and added that further plan of action will be announced then.

The PTI chief further said that in the electoral probe, 53,000 fake and bogus votes have been found and if investigated further, more discrepancies would have been found.

He went on to say that PTI is sending names of Umer Virk and other police officials involved in campaigns for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), adding that Ghaffar Gujjar's murder case will also be raised.

“I want to convey a message to the people of Punjab in particular that corruption is being highlighted in Sindh but Punjab is not clean either.”

“No one talks about the corruption in Punjab, during this campaign we will uncover the corruption done by the PML-N and Sharif Brothers.”

Regarding yesterday’s Badaber attack, Khan said, “The tragic incident of Peshawar that occurred yesterday is tormenting and highly condemnable.”
