KARACHI: The suspect who shot and injured a traffic warden in North Nazimabad area earlier this week was sent by an anti-terrorism court on a six-day physical remanded here today.


25-year-old Mohammed Junaid alias Bilal alias Bablu, a resident of New Karachi and a robber wanted for several cases, was injured in an encounter with a traffic policeman, Jumma Khan, on Tuesday night near the Matric board office in North Nazimabad.


After the encounter, he had fled with his accomplice and later arrived to get his wounded shoulder treated at the Civil Hospital Karachi from where he was arrested by the police.


Station Investigation Officer (SIO) Ikraam Rajput of the North Nazimabad police station said accused Junaid was a habitual criminal and was involved in a number of crimes, including murder and robbery.
