Aftab group identified for involvement in Khanzada murder: Sana

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Thursday said the proscribed Aftab group has been identified for involvement in the assassination of Punjab home minister Shuja Khanzada.

Speaking in the Punjab Assembly on call to attention notice, Rana Sanaullah said, in this connection, some of the terrorists have been arrested, however, he stopped short of disclosing their names at this stage.

He said the bike has also been identified which carried the suicide bombers to the office of Shuja Khanzada in Attock. A case has been lodged on the basis of the report filed by Riaz Nazir Kaira of Counter Terrorism Department, he added.

"All the accused involved in the Shuja Khanzada murder will be brought to justice", Rana Sanaullah vowed.

During the question and answer session, Uzma Bukhari of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) slammed the reconciliation committees, describing their role as horrible.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's lawmaker Aslam Iqbal accused the administration of biased distribution of development funds. However, his accusation was rejected by Parliamentary Secretary for Local Bodies.
