KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed to have busted a local network of Indian spy agency, Research Analysis Wing (RAW) in the Sindh capital.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Naveed Khawaja said four terrorists trained by the Indian spy agency have been arrested by CTD, adding the arrested accused were trained in different parts of India.

He said the arrested men were identified as Khalid, Muhammad Mohsin alias Kashif, Abdul Jabbar alias Tension and Muhammad Shafiq alias Pappu.

He claimed that arrested ‘Raw-associated’ men belong to a political party. However, the SSP said the place from where they were arrested would not be made public at this stage.

“They were involved in an attack on Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi) Chief, Afaq Ahmed and a bomb blast in Orangi Town,” SSP Naveed Khawaja said.

"One of the accused has agreed to become an approver", CTD officer said. He further said that the arrested men used to receive millions of rupees from India.

The SSP further said they wanted to disrupt peace and order of the country. He said cases of treason would be lodged against them.
