No contact from government after Godil attack: Sattar

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar said the government had not contacted them following the attack on Abdul Rashid Godil.

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar said the government had not contacted them following the attack on Abdul Rashid Godil.

Sattar said security provided to MQM parliamentarians in Karachi was not satisfactory. He added that a letter had been written to the Sindh government for providing security.

Sattar informed reporters that Godil was not out of danger and requested that people pray for his health. Sattar further said that Godil had a weak heart and had suffered a heart attack previously.

According to Sattar the investigation of the attack had started, adding that Corps Commander and DG Rangers Sindh had assured of their cooperation.

MQM leader Abdul Rashid Godil was critically wounded after unknown gunmen opened fire at his car in Bahadrubad area of Karachi on Tuesday. His wife escaped unhurt while his driver was killed.
