ISLAMABAD: After tendering his resignation along with other MQM members of National Assembly (MNAs), Rashid Godil, who is under treatment for multiple bullet wounds after coming under an armed attack in Karachi earlier on Tuesday, had told journalists ‘it seems we are going back to get killed’.
Godil spent an hour sitting outside the main gate of the Parliament building with the journalist fraternity having an informal discussion about current affairs and matters of mutual interest.
During that discussion, he asked his journalist friends to meet with him and other MQM leaders for one last time, saying “God knows if we’ll be able to come back here again”.
“Prevailing situation indicates that we’ll be killed,” he added.
When asked who he was facing life threats from, the injured MQM leader said he and his associates were ordinary political workers belonging to the masses and susceptible of getting killed by ‘anyone’.
