OGDCL sponsored girls’ hostel inaugurated at QAU

ISLAMABAD: A hostel with accommodation capacity of 300 students on Saturday was inaugurated at the campus of Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) in collaboration with Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL).

Managing Director of OGDCL, Zahid Mir and Vice Chancellor of QAU Dr Javed Ashraf were present on the occasion.

ISLAMABAD: A hostel with accommodation capacity of 300 students on Saturday was inaugurated at the campus of Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) in collaboration with Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL).

Managing Director of OGDCL, Zahid Mir and Vice Chancellor of QAU Dr Javed Ashraf were present on the occasion.

Construction of the hostel was sponsored by OGDCL under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, said a press release issued here.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Javed Ashraf lauded the noble step of OGDCL and urged the Corporate Sector of the country to come forward and support the premier institutions.

The Vice Chancellor said that QAU was a federally chartered university devoted to teaching & research.

At QAU students were admitted from all over the country according to regional quota, purely on merit.

He praised the generous donation of OGDCL and hoped that shortage of hostel accommodation would be tackled successfully with the completion of the new hostel.

Mr. Zahid Mir, Managing Director Chief Executive Officer of Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) while addressing the ceremony said since its inception the company had always given top priority to the development of communities residing in and around the Company’s area of operations. (APP)
