Rangers special powers extended for four months
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has extended special powers for Rangers for the next four months, expressing hope that the paramilitary force would continue to work with the similar enthusiasm with which it is operating in Karachi.
According to a spokesman for the chief minister, the specials powers to the Rangers have been given under the anti-terrorism act.

The statement comes hours before the Rangers’ powers expire. The Rangers have been carrying out a drive against criminal elements with special policing powers at its disposal.
The city of 20 million people has seen a respite in targeted killing and street crimes after the law enforcement agencies in collaboration with Rangers embarked on a plan to rid the city of violence .
