PM Nawaz announces Rs1 bn for flood hit Sindh

GHOTKI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday announced Rs1 billion as assistance to Sindh government to carry out relief work in the flood hit towns of the province.

Addressing a gathering of flood affected people here, he said the government would leave no stone unturned to provided relief to the flood effectees.

GHOTKI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday announced Rs1 billion as assistance to Sindh government to carry out relief work in the flood hit towns of the province.

Addressing a gathering of flood affected people here, he said the government would leave no stone unturned to provided relief to the flood effectees.

The premier, who is in Sindh to review relief efforts in the wake of flash floods and torrential monsoon rains, mentioned that besides tents and food, solar panels had been distributed among the affected people.

He also proposed provision of fans to the displaced people in order to beat the scorching heat.

The prime minister also took an aerial view of the inundated areas and directed the authorities to brief him in detail about the situation.

Prime Minister Sharif appreciated efforts of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and the administration of Sindh government for providing relief to the flood-affected people.

The premier also distributed relief goods among the affected persons on the occasion.

Nawaz vows to restore Karachi’s adornment

Earlier speaking to PML-N members belonging to Khyber Pakhtunhwa, the premier reiterated his government’s resolve to turn Pakistan into a progressive and developed country. He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project would help create employment opportunities in the whole region.

PM Sharif said the country was facing grave challenges and expressed his resolve of taking all political parties onboard in greater national interest.

The prime minister also said that positive results were being achieved in the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb.

Commenting on law and order situation of Karachi, Nawaz Sahrif said that adornments of the city were returning due to Rangers and police operation against criminals and terrorists. He vowed to rid Karachi of its ‘darkness’ soon–APP/Geo News
