COAS reiterates resolve to thwart any attempts at impeding CPEC

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif attended the Chinese Army’s 88th Anniversary on Friday, according to the ISPR.

DG ISPR Asim Saleem Bajwa tweeted that the COAS congratulated the People's Liberation Army of China for their sacrifices in pursuing dreams

The COAS went on to say that, “Our deep, resolute relations and all weather friendship is sweeter than honey, higher than the Himalayas, and deeper than the oceans. Our friendship will further grow in these testing times.”

Speaking about the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Gen. Sharif said that recent strides and holistic concept of CPEC speaks volumes, adding that, “Will see both nations progressing, further maximising dividend of our geo-strategic locations.”

“Cooperation on CPEC will benefit the entire region. Hope the entire world looks at CPEC through the same lens.”

While visited the site and observing the ‘pace of work in full gear’, the COAS further said, “I reiterate our firm resolve that any attempt to obstruct or impede this project will be thwarted at all costs.”

“Pakistan Army and People's Liberation Army of China form edifice of our strategic relations. Will defeat nefarious designs of forces detrimental to us. People's Liberation Army of China is one of the best armies.”
