KARACHI: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Friday paid tribute to Rangers and police for putting all out efforts to restore the city’s adornment.
Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court’s Karachi registry after attending a judicial commission meeting, he said Karachi once was a peaceful metropolis but its delight was stolen through violence.
Expressing his satisfaction on overall law and order situation of the Sindh capital, the minister said business activities were now in full swing here.
“After a long time, Karachiites celebrated Eid peacefully,” he remarked.
Commenting on the matter of resignations of the PTI MNAs, Rashid said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has formed a committee to negotiate with MQM and JUI-F on the issue. He was in contact with the two parties in this regard, he added.
Strongly condemning abduction and assault on Geo News Karachi Bureau Chief Faheem Siddqui, he urged the Sindh government to probe the incident and arrest the culprits behind it.
The information minister lauded the Pakistan Army’s efforts and sacrifices in the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists, saying terror attacks used to make headlines before and now crackdowns on militants have replaced them.
