ISLAMABAD: Discussing the prevailing law and order situation in Karachi with a Muttahdia Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Tuesday said Rangers’ actions were under rules and regulations.
The MQM delegation, comprised of Dr Farooq Sattar, Kunwar Naveed Jamil, Barrister Saif and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, called on the interior minister to convey their reservations on ongoing Karachi operation by Rangers and police.
Speaking on the occasion, Nisar said all political parties must extend their full cooperation to Rangers in greater national interest. He said the ongoing operation in the Sindh capital was against criminals and terrorists.
“Peace in Karachi is our collective responsibility and in national interest,” said the minister, adding that political forces must back the operation in greater national interest.
