LONDON: Dozens of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movment (MQM) workers used bottles and sticks as they clashed outside the latter’s secretariat here on Saturday.

According to our correspondent Murtaza Ali Shah, the PTI had organised a peaceful protest demonstration against the MQM outside its London Secretariat. However, it took a violent turn when the MQM workers came out to stage a counter protest demonstration.

Speaking on the occasion, PTI leader Faisal Vawda, who has specially arrived here for the protest, told the media that his party would also hold a protest on Sunday at 1:00 PM outside 10 Downing Street -- the headquarters of the executive arm of the British Government and the official residence and office of prime ministers.

Vawda said he had arrived in London with as many as 75 cases against the MQM whose chief Altaf Hussain he said was also wanted in different cases including targeted killing and money laundering.

The PTI leader said the MQM had hijacked the city of Karachi on gun point, adding that his party wanted to put an end to the politics of guns.

He said the MQM’s mindset has not yet changed but “we will do what no one has ever done before... we have to save Pakistan and London”.
