KARACHI: The Rangers paramilitary force claimed to have arrested a ‘notorious target killer’ Yamin alias AD in the last night’s raid at a restaurant in the city’s upscale Clifton neighbourhood.

A spokesman for Rangers said in a statement issued here on Friday night that the raid was carried out upon intelligence reports, adding that the restaurant was being monitored for the last several days.

“We had reports of suspicious activities at the restaurant,” said the spokesman.

The Rangers spokesman further claimed that Yamin was involved in the targeted killing of 10 people including four at Good Luck Garden apartments in 2014. He was also involved in acts of violence during strikes, he added.

Three people including a cousin of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MNA Ali Raza Abidi were taken into custody during the raid on Thursday night. Abidi's cousin Hassan Raza, however, was later released early on Friday morning.

Abidi, who was elected as an MNA from NA-250, was not present at the restaurant at the time of the raid, which has been condemned by Rabita Committee of the MQM and its chief Altaf Hussain.
