KARACHI: As many as 73 first information reports (FIRs) have been lodged across the country against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain for delivering ‘hate speech’ and ‘inciting violence’.

The FIRs are lodged in Islamabad, Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab and northern areas of the country.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Ali Zaidi and Faisal Vawda have also submitted an application to lodge an FIR against Hussain at Karachi’s Darakhshan Police Station.

Speaking to media representatives later, Zaidi said that the case would be lodged by Wednesday afternoon. He said peace has been restored after Rangers’ deployment in Karachi, adding that offensive language against Rangers and Pakistan Army would not be tolerated at any cost.

Faisal Vawda alleged the MQM was using Zakat and Fitra money for achieving their political goals. “They (MQM) should be ashamed for laundering Zakat, Fitra money,” he said.

The PTI leader went on to say that every arrested target killer in Karachi confesses of receiving training in India.
