KARACHI: A sub-inspector of Sindh Police and manager of a local bank among at least four people have been gunned down in separate incidents of firing within few hours in the city, officials said early on Tuesday.

According to the SSP Central, Sub-Inspector Imran was killed by unknown gunmen as they opened fire at his car near Abdullah College in North Nazimabad. The incident appears to be an attempted car-snatching, he added.

In a separate incident, Sheikh Nazir, the bank manager of National Bank of Pakistan’s (NBP) local branch was gunned down near UP Mor area of North Karachi.

SSP Muaqadas Haider told Geo News that Nazir was apparently killed for resisting a street-crime. SHO Sir Syed Town Gul Baig has been suspended after the incident, he added.

In other incidents, a man identified as Bakht Mansha was killed near Ayesha Manzil and an anonymous dead body was recovered from Sohrab Goth area.

Meanwhile, the Rangers paramilitary force claimed to have rounded up several suspicious people besides arresting nine suspects in separate raids conducted in Muslim Colony, Kausar Colony and Godhra neighbourhoods.
