Police kill four, arrest two ‘wanted suspects’ in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh Police claimed to have killed four suspects in ‘encounters’ while arresting two wanted suspects and recovering weapons from their possession in the city early on Saturday.
According to police, two suspects allegedly belonging to Sheraz Comrade group of Lyari gang war were gunned down in an encounter in Lyari’s Chakiwara area. Hand grenades and other weapons were recovered from their possession, they added.
In a separate encounter that took place in Malir’s Salar Goth, two suspects were killed and as many arrested by the police. They claimed to have recovered ‘Awan Bomb’ and other arms and ammunition from their possession.
Police and Rangers paramilitary force have intensified their ongoing operation against militants and criminals in Karachi, launched in September, 2013.
