ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman, Shah Mehmood Qureshi says, the Federal government cannot stay silent over the severe allegations levelled against the MQM.

Speaking to journalists outside the Parliament House on Thursday, Qureshi asked whether the federal government intended to investigate the allegations against Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

He demanded to know if the MQM - having rejected the allegations - had any intentions to take the BBC reporter to court.

Qureshi said, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) had recently invited the MQM to join the Sindh government. He asked if the PPP's invitation still stands after the allegations levelled by the BBC.

The BBC on Wednesday aired a report which claims the MQM had received funds and training from India. The party dismissed the BBC's claims as baseless.
