COAS spends 1st Ramazan with troops in Khyber

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif spent Friday with troops and tribals in the Khyber Agency where he was received by Lieutenant General Hidayat Ur Rehman, Corps commander XI-Corps.

Upon his arrival General Raheel first visited Jawaro near the Pak-Afghan border and reviewed progress of the ongoing operation, which is in its concluding phase.

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif spent Friday with troops and tribals in the Khyber Agency where he was received by Lieutenant General Hidayat Ur Rehman, Corps commander XI-Corps.

Upon his arrival General Raheel first visited Jawaro near the Pak-Afghan border and reviewed progress of the ongoing operation, which is in its concluding phase.

While talking to troops, the COAS commended their professional commitment and paid rich tributes to them for their sacrifices in restoration of peace and normalcy to the troubled region of Khyber Agency.

Terrorist strongholds in the agency have been reduced while the fighting continues in the last few pockets, close to the Pak-Afghan border. The COAS added, that the noose has been tightened and the terrorists will not be allowed to re-establish themselves.

General Raheel Sharif also visited a de-radicalization centre in Bara, where those militants who surrendered during ‘Operation Khyber’ are being provided vocational training and education.

COAS complimented the tribal brethren for their full support to evict terrorists from the agency and also appreciated their resolve of not allowing terrorists to return to these areas. He specially paid rich tributes to Shuhada (martyrs) and the wounded.
