Gunmen kill three policemen in Karachi

KARACHI: Three police personnel including a Sub-Inspector were killed when unknown gunmen opened fire on their police mobile early morning Wednesday in Karachi’s Azizabad area.

The policemen were on night duty in Bhangoria Goth area of Azizabad when miscreants on motorbikes sprayed bullets on their van killing three of them on the spot.

KARACHI: Three police personnel including a Sub-Inspector were killed when unknown gunmen opened fire on their police mobile early morning Wednesday in Karachi’s Azizabad area.

The policemen were on night duty in Bhangoria Goth area of Azizabad when miscreants on motorbikes sprayed bullets on their van killing three of them on the spot.

The bodies of the deceased policemen identified as Sub-inspector Sikander, Constables Abid and Asharf were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

SP Liaqatabad Tahir Noorani said bullet shells had not been recovered from the site of the attack and it was not clear which group was involved. The SP added the attackers fled with the official ammunition and raids were being carried out for their arrest.

The attack site was visited by DG Rangers Sindh Major General Bilal Akbar and Karachi Police Chief Ghullam Haider Thebo who sought details of the incident.

Police have obtained a picture from a CCTV camera of two men who killed three policemen in Karachi.

The picture shows two men riding on a motorcycle with one wearing a black shalwar kameez and the other a blue shirt and beige pants.
