The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team has successfully decoded the main server of IT company Axact, sources revealed to Geo News on Friday.

According to sources the server contained information of 60 universities and 42,000 students many of whom were foreigners.

Two Axact employees admit to using fake names

Two sales officers working at the Axact Rawalpindi office have admitted that they used fake names. Sajjad Haider and Hasnaninur Rehman admitted to FIA officials that they were using the names George and Mike.


FIA granted permission to probe Axact linked bank accounts

The FIA has been granted permission by the District and Sessions Judge South to probe 34 bank accounts linked to IT company Axact.

The application submitted by Assistant Director FIA Corporate Crime Circle Saeed Ahmed Memon stated that an enquiry was being conducted into allegations of “providing fake and fictitious degrees on the basis of fake fictitious documents, CNICs of other persons etc for depositing illegal fund”.

According to the FIA there are 24 accounts which were opened on fake documents and CNICs.

The application said funds had been deposited in several banks and the court granted permission to probe these accounts under section 94 of the criminal procedure code.

FIA continues probe, questions Axact employees

Officials of the FIA visited the headquarters of Axact for a fourth day on Friday to continue their investigation and questioning of the IT company's employees.

FIA investigators were currently at the Karachi offices of Axact, which is accused of reaping millions of dollars by selling fake academic degrees online.

According to reports, FIA officials were investigating the company's records and questioning employees in Karachi.
