PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has vowed to turn Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital into a ‘model’ facility within a period of three months.

Imran Khan, whose party governs the northern province of Pakistan, visited the facility unannounced Tuesday and inquired about the health of rain and thunderstorm victims.

He was also briefed over the treatment of patients by the Medical Director of the facility, Professor Aamir Ghafoor.

Khan said the PTI-led provincial government would make LRH the best medical facility in the world, adding his wife Reham Khan would conduct fund-raising for the hospital.

"Positive changes would be brought in the system of hospital and the people will themselves witness these changes", Imran Khan added.

The PTI chairman further said the system in the hospital cannot be improved till the laws are promulgated, announcing that the KP government would bring laws for positive changes into the facility.

"We have spent a large amount on the hospitals and educational institutions in the province", he claimed.

"VIP movement causes severe hardships to the patients and doctors treating them, that is why I quietly arrived to meet the patients", said the PTI chief.
